Snowy Hydro 2.0 is an iconic project initiative to develop a 2000MW power station using the available snowy reservoirs. It is one of the largest committed renewable energy projects in Australia, and Nettlefold Projects has been engaged in a Design, Interface & Asset Manager capacity for its duration.
It was our responsibility to manage design packages and coordinate them according to the employer’s requirements and agreed design deliverables. We successfully ensured scope gaps and interfaces were identified, closing these by prompting the employer to instruct the relevant consultants.
Some of the challenges we faced were in managing the interfaces between multiple engineering consultants and ensuring that all packages were progressing to allow for the design packages to fit together as intended. To manage these challenges, Design management meetings were held regularly to identify and resolve issues, while also ensuring that a quality design was being produced by all stakeholders.
Nettlefold continues to coordinate across the various specialist design teams contracted to the Snowy 2.0 to triage work and keep the project running smoothly and within compliance. collaborating with engineers and leveraging the expertise of leading engineering consulting firms to triage work and ensure the project runs smoothly and remains within compliance.
